Take your time and enjoy the plants and wildlife as well as the shade during this part of the trail.
As you find yourself staring up at what is nicknamed “Walter’s Wiggles” ( the set of 21 STEEP switchbacks carved out of the rock).
Take a deep breath and think of a mantra that will take your mind and body to the top.
If you’re short on ideas “I can do this” always works.
You’ve made it to Scout Lookout- If you need to use a toilet there is one here. This is usually the point for those that have a fear of heights to turnaround, but since we know you are all here to grow we don’t have to worry about anyone turning around!
When you start your climb up these rocks, don’t worry about your speed.
Take your time, watch your step, and most importantly, utilize the chains as they are there for a reason.
“I can do this”
Once there take a million photos, sit and listen to the wind, take it all in.
The way down is the easiest part! If you get a little worried about some of the sections hold onto the chains, ask someone for help, or sit on your pockets and slide a little. Take one more pit stop at Scout’s Lookout and before you know it you’ll be back on the shuttle.
