Ways to Stay Active This Fall
Are you staying on track with your fitness goals this Fall?
It can be super easy to get distracted from your fitness goals, but we’ve got some tips to help you stay active this season as the colors change and temperature drops.
Don’t let the cooler temperatures scare you indoors quite yet. It’s worth it to soak up some outdoor time before winter shows up!
1. Go for a hike to see the colors.
Fall is a great time for hikes thanks to cooler temperatures and all the beautiful changing colors. Take the family and go find a local hike. It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy nature and get some exercise together.
2. Head to a pumpkin patch.
Instead of buying your pumpkins at the grocery store, find a pumpkin patch. You’ll help support local small businesses while getting some steps in walking around the patch looking for the perfect pumpkins!
3. Find a local carnival or harvest festival.
Local events like harvest festivals are great for participating in your community, meeting new friends, even potential clients, and getting out and being active. You’ll usually do plenty of walking at a carnival or festival even if it’s just for an hour or so.
4. Do some yard work.
Change of seasons, especially summer into fall, is prime time for prepping your yard for the colder months. Pulling weeds, raking leaves, and mowing the lawn are great calorie burners too!
5. Do some Fall cleaning around the house.
Who said deep cleaning and organizing your house is just for spring? Take some time this fall and clean those areas in your house that need it. Organizing and cleaning your home is a great way to get off the couch and stay active.
6. Spend a day at the park.
Take the family and enjoy a crisp day at the park. Play some tennis together, throw a ball around, or just take a walk. Enjoy the sunshine and being active together. After all, if you’re participating in the 10k Pledge, every step counts!
